Master's Degrees & Programs
Looking to take your career to the next level?
Wondering how you can do it? Perhaps advancing your education could be the key.
Adults who are balancing the challenges of life, family and career choose the
College of Professional and Continuing Education at Clark University.
While initially designed to accommodate adult working students, with the increased demand for graduate professional degrees today, over half of our current students are attending our graduate programs as full time students.
International students attend our professional degree programs from countries around the world.
Certificate in Community Human Service Management (CCHSM)
Clark University offers two certificate programs in human services management.
They are 1) Certificate in Human Services Management and 2) the
Certificate in Community Human Services Management.
Course work in each of these programs has the potential to be applied as four course equivalents in the
Clark University Master of Public Administration program.
Certificate in Human Services Management
Clark University offered a certificate in human services management (CHSM) Program for two years
that consists of six courses (Managing Human Service Organizations; Finance and Accounting;
Strategic Management Information systems; Program Evaluation and Outcomes Measurement; Organizational
Behavior and Leadersihp; and Applied Economics). This program is offered as individual non-cohort-based
courses during the evening hours. These courses are oriented toward leadership training and provide career
growth opportunities.
Certificate in Community Human Services Management
Clark University, in partnership with the Massachusetts Providers Council, is now
offering a certificate in community human services management (CCHSM). This program is offered in the daytime on the
Clark University campus one day a week for an entire academic year, and consists of five education blocks that include
courses in a survey of human services management; legal issues for nonprofits; human resources management; applied economics; financial management; entrepreneurship; fundraising,
event planning and grant writing; and program evaluation. These courses are oriented toward leadership training and provide
career growth opportunities. The cohort system introduces middle-managers to others in similar positions, providing
a network of support in community-based human services.
Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies
The CAGS program in Interdisciplinary Studies is
offered by COPACE to students with master's degrees. CAGS is designed primarily,
but not exclusively, for educators who wish to continue or return to academic study
but who do not wish to pursue a doctoral degree.
Master of Public Administration
The MPA program develops administrators who can
effectively address the managerial, economic and political aspects of public issues
and programs. The degree combines the study of general management principles with a
practical approach to public/private partnership, politics and public budgeting, and
public safety. You may choose concentrations in human services, health, law enforcement,
local government, non-profit management or gerontology.
Master of Science in Professional Communication
If you are seeking to augment your communication
skills so you can advance to a management role or if you work in human resources,
training, sales or marketing communications, consider the Master of Science in
Professional Communication. This degree will give you academic and practical knowledge
in marketing communications and sales, human resource development, and training, mediation
and conflict management, and communication technologies.
Master of Science in Information Technology
The unimaginable evolution and expansion of information
technologies in general and "e-based" systems in particular over the past decade both in the
U.S. and abroad have created an unprecedented demand for highly skilled technology professionals.
Similarly, the availability of appropriately educated managers to oversee this burgeoning
function is likewise in crisis. In fact, as the need for technical expertise increases
exponentially, so will the demand for qualified information technology managers.
