Dean's Letter
At the College of Professional and Continuing Education, we understand the hurdles continuing education students must overcome to earn their Bachelor's degree. Many of our students juggle a career, a home and sometimes a family in addition to their course work, but still seek a quality education that will be relevant in their professional lives. COPACE has been offering this education for over 75 years with the flexibility and individual attention that our students deserve.
The curriculum of our undergraduate programs is built upon the rich liberal arts tradition of Clark University with a focus toward professional skills. COPACE students learn to think critically, communicate well and apply knowledge from many different disciplines to their professional lives. Learning is a life-long process, and a Bachelor's degree from COPACE will teach you the skills you will need to adapt and change as your environment changes. Our curriculum is also innovative, including an integrated Bachelor's/Master's degree program.
COPACE is designed as a learning environment for the adult student, and our curriculum and academic support systems reflect this goal. We have designed special courses to address the needs of adult students, and all of our courses utilize a collaborative classroom environment where students learn from professors and other students alike. Advisors are available for academic advising over the phone, in person, or via e-mail, and our writing tutor is available to help you with writing projects for all of your COPACE courses. Finally, our courses award four credit hours each rather than three, providing students the opportunity to explore course material more deeply and gain a fuller understanding of the issues involved.
Whether you are considering taking a few courses, or would like to pursue a Bachelor's degree, we believe that COPACE offers you the best option to attain your academic and career goals. Our quality programs, individual attention and superior value ensure that you will not only enjoy going back to school, but also that you will receive the most in return for your time and effort. Send us an e-mail today to learn more about our undergraduate programs or to meet with an academic advisor; we would be happy to talk with you and evaluate any transfer credit you may have.
Sincerly,
Joanne R. DeMoura
